Hey all. Have a character that I think might work well here.
Full Name: Amanda Xander Stevens
Nickname(s): Mandi
Gender: Female
Birthday: August 6th 1989
Age: 18
Good or Evil?: Good, predominently
Siblings: Older brother Charles, younger sisters Sophie and Teresa (Tess).
Family: Rico Vipluende and Martha Stevens, Mandi keeps her mother's name.
Hair: Short brown bangs
Eyes: Black
Skin Tone: Fair, a little pale
Personality: Mandi is a fairly casual and easy going type. Not really the type to hold a grudge but she will let others know if someone or something does bother her. She likes to have a bit of fun, a bit of amusement, and occasionally comes across as a bit of a snarker, such as commenting how Ron will never go to the Jewish temple after hearing how he swore being rich will not change him. Fashion wise, Mandi likes to stick to her comfortable brown cargos and red singlet, but she does look at what other choices of trendy clothing might appeal. She said she never went into the whole Kim style fad, and was a little spooked at how big it got.
She likes to stay fit through running and la parkour, and like most girls is into boys. She has a couple of boyfriends from high school and is quite chummy with several more. She also likes cars and music, the Oh Boys and especially Smashmouth, though she doesn't go much for American Starmaker, or TV in general, but she has admitted to being a fan of Pain King and wrestling , though not on par with the likes of Monique. She never got around to finishing her animology test though she was looking at either a white dove or, more likely, a brown meerkat.
Currently Mandi is looking at expanding her wardrobe but isn't quite sure what is fashionable. She is also putting a lot of focus into playing guitar, she did this at Middleton once for the talent contest where she played Cliffs of Dover. This is in between spending time with her current boyfriend Keith. She has also started out taking a babysitting job looking after Lucian Chambers, and parrt of the requirement for that was for Mandi to learn a form of martial art as his mother insisted that she was able to protect him if needed, thus Mandi seeks out Kim when she can for help.
Weaknesses: For one Mandi is not much of a fighter, though she does know a little about defending herself against the likes of Shego she would most likely come off second best. For another while she is getting better at this Mandi can fall into the wrong crowd, such as Bonnie. Especially when a cute boy is involved. And she doesn't always display the best judgment in either character or her actions, having to go to detention a couple of times and occasionally choosing the wrong friends or boy.
History: Mandi was born in Boston and not long after her birth her father Rico was in trouble with the law. Rico was a member of the Latin gang Los Diablos and after running from California to escape a gangster life they tried to get him to rejoin. During her early years Mandi was kept as far away from this side of her father as possible, however as she began attending school members of Los Diablos would try and pick her up on the pretense of looking after her, but because of their influence Mandi began learning from the gangs. Rico knew that he had to do something to stop it so he moved his family to Middleton.
As Mandi entered her high school years she began taking an interest in the gang members she was introduced to as a child, and with the increasing number of qurstions about Los Diablos Rico and Martha knew they had to do something for Mandi to avoid the lifestyle she risked growing into. Rico wanted to provide a future for her, and began doting on Mandi in the hopes that she would lose interest in gangs. He taught her about cars with her brother Charles, not long before she began school as a somewhat nervous student who kept to herself.
Unsure of how to fit in, she basically chose not to associate with others for a time. However thanks largely to the support of her family Mandi grew in confidence to the point where by the end of the year she was seeing boys. One time in her second year Shego and Monkey Fist attacked the school, fighting Kim in the cafeteria. Mandi had no idea what possessed her but she shoved Kim out and locked the door. Having time to rationalize what she did later Mandi wondered if maybe she did that because Kim always was the hero and thought maybe putting her in a position where the bad people couldn't get her, where maybe they would leave or the police would arrive, was some way to return the favor. Instead they attacked and overwhelmed her, Mandi could hear them taunting Kim until she was able to get back, by which time Shego was able to fight off Mandi despite her height and leverage advantage and slash her across the throat. Kim fought them off then later came to see Mandi in hospital. She was going to have her tonsils taken out and the first thing Kim did was apologise, for which Mandi was thankful for, but as she ate ice cream said that Kim had nothing to apologise for, knowing that if Kim hadn't shown up when she did then she could well be dead. Kim told her it was no big, but Mandi disagreed, insistant that it was very much a big deal that she saved her life.
This wasn't the only major run in with Kim. About a year later Mandi's father was in trouble because of guns he had claimed were modified by having the firing pins removed were found by the police to be in working order, and Rico was looking at firearms charges. When the weapons the police had siezed were stolen Rico suspected his old gang were behind it, and Mandi went to Kim for help. Kim was able to discover the guns were stolen by another gang in a bid to lure Rico into a turf war back in California, but when he tried to investigate he became involved in a firefight. By the time Kim was able to interfere it was too late, Rico was shot dead. Mandi's reaction wasn't to blame Kim, but for weeks she was depressed about it and wondered why she couldn't save him. In the months ahead they did get better.
Rp Sample: Kim couldn't remember when she felt so low. It wasn't just the simple fact that she failed, something that in itself would cause her to be upset and frustrated, but she had failed and it cost someone their life. Mandi's father did not deserve that, she told herself.
Mandi does not deserve this to happen to her. If Kim was feeling better, if she was feeling particularly cruel, she might have suggested Bonnie would deserve it.
"Get a hold of yourself," she said out loud, shocked at her thoughts. After the guns were recovered and taken to the police Kim felt she needed to be home alone, not being able to face up to Ron or Monique at the moment. The Tweebs were out somewhere and mom and dad were still at work, it would give her time to work out what to tell Mandi. As her house came into view Kim saw someone sitting on the front step, the person's choice of clothing in red top and brown trousers too familiar. Kim froze, trying to decide whether she should run and hope she wasn't noticed when Mandi looked up. She was close enough for Kim to see that she was very concerned and worried, and realising that Mandi wouldn't know what happened yet Kim steeled herself and approached.
"Did you find him?" Mandi asked. "Is he okay?" For a moment Kim wondered about lying, thinking that the truth would be too devestating for Mandi to bear. She looked down as Mandi studied her, seeming not to grasp why Kim was hesitant, and decided against it, knowing that at the very least she owed her the truth.
"I found him," Kim began, and when she spoke Mandi seemed to realise there was something wrong and stood up, looming a full foot over Kim. Kim ignored any physical intimidation she felt, determined to tell her what happened, as gently as she could manage. "Something happened," she managed to get out, ignoring Mandi looking down at her with an awkward, quizzical look on her face. "Something terrible has happened." Kim dared to look up to see Mandi looking at her intently, before softening a little as she nodded for her to go on. "Your father was in a firefight when he tried to recover the AK=47s."
"What happened?" Mandi asked softly. When Kim didn't answer right away she grabbed her by the shoulders. "Please tell me Kim, is my father okay?" Kim lowered her head, not able to look her in the face.
"I'm very sorry." For a moment Mandi didn't seem like she was able to take in what Kim was saying, but then suddenly she grabbed the neck of Kim's black crop top brought her in close, her fists under her chin.
"He's dead?" she whispered, her face right up against Kim's, who pulled back slightly. She didn't think of Mandi as a violent girl but given the grief she had to be going through knew she might lash out. After a moment however Mandi lowered her back down, having lifted Kim up on her tippy toes when she worked out what happened to Rico. Unclutching Kim's mission clothes, Mandi sort of staggered away in shock, her hand going up to pinch the bridge of her nose, before it balled into a fist and Kim thought Mandi was going to deck her. Instead she swung to her left, the knuckles slamming into the wall next to her. Trying to keep from sobbing Mandi felt herself begin to hyperventilate as she pulled back and punched the wall of Kim's home several more times before she felt the pain in her arm and stopped.
"I'm truely very sorry," Kim told her again, placing a hand on Mandi's shoulder. "If there's anything I can do to help, anything I can do..."
"No," Mandi replied, pulling away. "No, thank you." Kim thought she couldn't leave Mandi like this and tried again.
"Mom might know someone at the hospital, grief councilling..."
"No!" Mandi thundered, having heard enough. If looks could kill the way she glared at a startled Kim would have killed her. "Why couldn't you save him Kim?" she demanded. :You're meant to be a hero, you're supposed to be able to save him." She paused, bringing a hand to her face which Kim could see was bleeding and beginning to bruise. "I know," Mandi added, her voice much softer, "I know you did everything you could."
"I did," Kim told her, trying to understand that Mandi wasn't setting out to be nasty, she was acting in grief. Taking in her blank stare, Kim added, "If I could have saved him I would." Mandy didn't react badly this time, instead she nodded weakly, then turned and ran. Kim figured she didn't know how to handle what happened.
Which makes two of us, she thought, flopping down on the front step while trying to rationalise that Mandi's emotions were clouding her judgment and would want to be left alone.
Anything Else?: Rico knew Kim's father, and in their first meeting mistakenly called him Jack as opposed to James. This was an allusion to 24, with Jack and Kim Bauer. Mandi, Keith and Xander are also the names of characters or actors from the show.
